A pr 2 00 6 An extension of the Eilenberg - Mac Lane concept of category in the case of nonrigid structures
نویسنده
چکیده
Nonrigid mathematical structures may no longer form usual Eilen-berg-Mac Lane categories, but more general ones, as illustrated by pseudo-topologies. A rather general concept of pseudo-topology was used in constructing differential algebras of generalized functions containing the Schwartz distributions, [4-6,8-11]. These algebras proved to be convenient in solving large classes of nonlinear partial differential equations, see [12,13] and the literature cited there, as well as section 46F30 in the Subject Classification 2000 of the American Mathematical Society, at The totality of such pseudo-topologies no longer constitutes a usual Eilenberg-Mac Lane category, but an extended one which is presented here. Other nonrigid mathematical structures are mentioned and treated briefly. This is a revised and augmented version of the earlier published paper [7].

Proof nets for MLL, unit-free Multiplicative Linear Logic (Girard, 1987), provide elegant, abstract representations of proofs. Cut-free MLL proof nets form a category, under path composition, in the manner of EilenbergKelly-Mac Lane graphs (Eilenberg and Kelly, 1966; Kelly and Mac Lane, 1971). Objects are formulas of MLL, and a morphism A → B, a proof net from A to B, is a linking or matching b...
متن کاملON THE CAPACITY OF EILENBERG-MACLANE AND MOORE SPACES
K. Borsuk in 1979, at the Topological Conference in Moscow, introduced concept of the capacity of a compactum and asked some questions concerning properties of the capacity ofcompacta. In this paper, we give partial positive answers to three of these questions in some cases. In fact, by describing spaces homotopy dominated by Moore and Eilenberg-MacLane spaces, the capacities of a Moore space $...

Let G be a finite group. For a based G-space X and a Mackey functor M , a topological Mackey functor X e ⊗M is constructed. When X is a based G-CW complex, X e ⊗M is shown to be an infinite loop space in the sense of G-spaces. This gives a version of the RO(G)-graded equivariant Dold-Thom theorem. Applying a variant of Elmendorf’s construction, we get a model for the Eilenberg-Mac Lane spectrum...
متن کاملApplications of the Kleisli and Eilenberg-Moore 2-adjunctions
In 2010, J. Climent Vidal and J. Soliveres Tur developed, among other things, a pair of 2-adjunctions between the 2-category of adjunctions and the 2-category of monads. One is related to the Kleisli adjunction and the other to the Eilenberg-Moore adjunction for a given monad.Since any 2-adjunction induces certain natural isomorphisms of categories, these can be used to classify bijection...
متن کاملThird Mac Lane Cohomology via Categorical Rings
In the fifties, Saunders Mac Lane invented a cohomology theory of rings using the cubical construction introduced earlier by Eilenberg and himself to calculate stable homology of Eilenberg-Mac Lane spaces. As shown in [9], this theory coincides with the topological Hochschild cohomology for Eilenberg-Mac Lane ring spectra. In particular, the third dimensional cohomology group is expected to pro...
